I noticed her first from Kamiseta's store ads; what an odd name for a beautiful face. (If you had notice, Kamiseta models has a certain type of beauty, a certain look, that is similar among them.. which i do not know how else to describe.) Then, I was able to watch an ETC show that featured Hollywood stars who have had near-death experiences due to accidents, calamities, whatsoever. She was one of them.

From a little research, Czech Republic-born Petra Nemcova is an international supermodel. She became a model after being spotted at the age of 16 during a national talent search. She was featured on the cover of the 2003 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, and has also modeled for Victoria's Secret, and for many other companies in the women's clothing market. Petra was also one of the telecast judges during the 53rd annual Miss Universe competition in Quito, Ecuador.

In December 2004, Petra and her fiance Simon Atlee was in Khao Lak resort in Thailand when the Tsunami hit the island. Petra suffered a broken pelvis and internal injuries but managed to hold on to a tree for 8 hours, until she was rescued by Thai civilians and airlifted to a nearby hospital.

Her fiance's body was found and identified 2 months later on the shores of Sumatra - near the epicenter of the earthquake that caused the Tsunami.

In 2005, Petra started the Happy Heart's Fund (HHF), which I think has a collaboration with Give2Asia. HHF is a campaign advocating for the aid of children who have suffered loss or hardship as a result of natural, economic, or health related disasters. The HHF provides disadvantaged youngsters tangible essential and sustainable help they need for healthy childhood development.
