Artist : Bob Marley
Old pirates, yes, they rob I;
Sold I to the merchant ships,
Minutes after they took I
From the bottomless pit.
But my hand was made strong
By the hand of the Almighty.
We forward in this generation
Triumphantly.
Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom?
Cause all I ever have: Redemption songs;
Redemption songs.
Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;
None but ourselves can free our minds.
Have no fear for atomic energy,
'Cause none of them can stop the time.
How long shall they kill our prophets,
While we stand aside and look? Ooh!
Some say it's just a part of it:
We've got to fulfil de book.
Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom?
'Cause all I ever have: Redemption songs;
Redemption songs;Redemption songs.
---[Guitar break]---
Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;
None but ourselves can free our mind.Wo!
Have no fear for atomic energy,
'Cause none of them-a can-a stop-a the time.
How long shall they kill our prophets,
While we stand aside and look?
Yes, some say it's just a part of it:
We've got to fulfil de book.
Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom?
'Cause all I ever had:Redemption songs
All I ever had:Redemption songs:
These songs of freedom,
Songs of freedom.
trivia : if i did not research the lyrics of this Marley song, i wouldn't have found out that Rihanna has her version. does she? i have yet to see the video, if there is.

i am amazed and somewhat inspired at my officemate's openness to change. in the office, she's the typical tomboyish person whom everyone thinks (and some of us have proofs) is lesbian. but just for this Christmas, or shall i say Christmas party, she's planned and starting to spend her 13th month pay for a makeover.... and not just a simple makeover... it's a total makeover... a paradigm shift of some sort. ;) ...she just bought a yellow-gold sleeveless top, she'll buy a fit formal slacks and a strappy high-heeled sandals to complete the get-up. also, she'll have her hair rebonded on Sunday. i bet everyone will have to say something when they see her on the 10th, or else they'll explode. lol.
i think her change is amazing. she's a work in progress.

as i was helping her find the yellow-gold top of her fast-approaching, highly-anticipated emancipation, i realized how much i would really like to have my own boutique. the idea of me stuffing my own store with fashionable wears and originally-thought of shirt designs, plus accessories for folks coming from different fashion sense... it thrills me!
hmm... Lord, when are you giving me the big break to make my dreams come true..? make me actually see and realize the opportunity you've been waving at me for years.... :) i'm excited! =)
