fresh year

in my entry "looking forward to December" i listed down some of the stuff i've been wanting to do. so, below are the actuals that happened in the last month of 2008.

1. Take a break from work. By that time, I already have VLs. 3 days is good enough. I have to save on VLs so my back pay will be a little more than expected.

we filed our VLs and our area manager approved them right away but the HR discouraged us by saying that if we take our leave on December it would be a 'frequency' (aka 'offense'). in addition, they informed us that these so and so dates will have double pay and these dates will have plus 30%.

so instead of taking days off in December, i just took one VL on December 25 and filed a week-long VL this month, January. =)

2. Get a massage!

i didn't get to do this. basta within this year nama siguro magagawa ko 'to. i hope. =)

3. Foot spa!

this one i got to do yesterday. hehe it was my first time! i was very ticklish at the beginning but got used to it after, like, 30 minutes. :p ...happy feet. i might not want to go through it again. i'd rather have body massage than another foot spa. but if the need arises, maybe after a year, i might agree to go all over it again. hehe

4. Catch on sleep.

i didn't get to do this. i'm already thinking that this might not be possible until Troy turns 1 year old or so.

5. Play with kids.

Time with kids is always important. I sooooper love them! =)

That's why, if i want more time with my children, i should work hard now. And maybe, luckily get a higher-paying job with a more employee-friendly company. So that in the near future, i could put up my own business and be able to manage and use my time the way i (and my family) want, need or prefer.

6. Visit my maiden home. Overnight if possible.

i was able to do this twice this month with jeff & stef. troy was always left at home with his lola. the picture above was taken at the family's mango ochard... actually, it's my lolo and papa's orchard. they're the ones who'se been doing all the work to grow and maintain the place.

the 'overnight' factor is impossible and sort of a hassle right now, i realize. maybe when stef & troy turns 4 y/o and 2 y/o, respectively, that's when we can do overnights.

7. Get some stuff at home fixed (like my monster in law... joke!).

well, there are just some things that can't be fixed..... JOKE! hehehehe

i didn't get to do much on this. i was only able to buy a dish organizer, re-arrange and clean the sala and its furnitures, and clean our room. maybe on my VL days i can do more.

~(^*^)~

like i wrote in my SB red journal, more than anything, i am hopeful, inspired, ready and looking forward to the new beginning...

welcome year 2009!
may it be a blessed, prosperous , joyous, graceful, peaceful and successful year for all of us.
