Hosea

it was only last night through Holy Mass that i learned about the story of Hosea and Gomer. the priest shared the story to the crowd in a very short and simple narrative.

God said to Hosea, “Go, take to yourself a wife of harlotry, and have children of harlotry; for the land commits flagrant harlotry, forsaking the Lord” (Hos. 1:2). Hosea married Gomer who was once a harlot. Hosea loved her deeply. Again and again Gomer became unfaithful and yet Hosea welcomed her with open arms, restored her as his faithful wife, offering a fresh, new life.

HOSEA

Come back to me with all your heart
Don't let fear keep us apart
Trees do bend though straight and tall
So must we to other's call

*Long have I waited for your coming
Home to me and living deeply our new life

The wilderness will lead you
To your heart where I will speak
Integrity and justice,
With tenderness, You shall know

*Long have I waited for your coming
Home to me and living deeply our new life

You shall sleep secure with peace
Faithfulness will be your joy

*Long have I waited for your coming
Home to me and living deeply our new life
