super post-eConcert post

not being able to be there live at the Eraserhead's Final Set concert last month felt bad because i knew i was missing a long-awaited "closure" (millions of followers share the same sentiment of needing a 'closure'). also, i was missing on seeing the four heads come together again on stage for the very last time.

thanks to GMA-7, i finally saw the concert last night. yet i know that watching the event on TV is nothing really compared to actually being there -- standing/waving/bobbing/ with the rest of the crowd (wearing and smelling the same pawis scent), singing along with the songs (knowing them by heart word per word - unlike Tim Yap), reminiscing our younger days.

it was heartbreaking to see Ely burn his old faithful piano, kick it and stomp on it like he was really bidding everybody goodbye as the frontman of the band - just as a boy crushes a girl's heart. in a more realistic way of putting it into words, it was like Ely saying that "this is it. hanggang dito na lang 'to. let's all move on after this." nasa pagkanta niya. nasa mga mata niya. nakakalungkot!

but for their followers it's just so hard to let go. tipong 'why end early something so beautiful?'.

more than anything, the band and their followers connected. and, you would know that both are thankful to each other for the appreciation.

i enjoyed every song, the band, their performance, the lights, the crowd, the 'angas', the 'lupit'. swear, i'll introduce the eHeads and their music to Stef and Troy when they grow up.
