R-E-S-P-E-C-T

SOP's La Diva (Jonalyn Viray, Maricris Garcia and Pampanga's very own, Aicelle Santos) and You've Got Male (Gian Magdangal, Jan Nieto, Harry Santos and Bryan Termulo) just left our office's premises. They just had a show here, covering around 10 songs yata - I lost count because I had a great time listening to them. They performed mostly teleserye OPM themes, two Beatles covers and some RNBs.

Talent-wise, they are all very, very good. They blend. They have harmony. Unlike some of our veterans - when you put them together, sapawan. Hindi mo na ma-appreciate yung kanta. Pataasan kung pataasan, pakulutan kung pakulutan. I commend GMA 7 for discovering such talents and continuously honing them for the greater good of the Philippine entertainment industry. ;) They surely earned my R-E-S-P-E-C-T. :)

Maricris is my favorite among the La Diva, but it was quite comforting, melancholic and relevant to find out that Aicelle loves to sing "Don't Let Go" (by En Vogue), which is also one of my all time favorite songs. What can I say. She's a Kapampangan and born near around my batch, so it's no surprise that we have a common favorite song. Jonalyn is no doubt very talented - sabayan kung sabayan talaga.

The boys are charming! From observation, I think Gian has the biggest fan base, which should not be questioned because I think he has got the most experience and training among the boys. And his slightly snobbish air sets girls (and girls trapped on boys' bodies) to want him even more. He's probably just tired that's why he seems a tiny, little bit snobbish; but he was kind enough to shake the hands of his fans.

Jan is the mature one which probably explains why not so many shouts his name whenever he comes up (or out) the stage. If only Bryan could rub off a bit of his charm and coolness to Jan, Jan just might double his career luck.

I never liked Harry Santos watching him on TV. I guess the publicity that came out (when he was just starting) comparing his talent/voice to Josh Groban's pre-empted my appreciation of him. I mean, the boy's got the potentials! That earlier publicity almost robbed off the youngness of his career. Thank heavens for SOP and his personal appearnces, that publicity has been ammended. I like him already. Like Bryan, he's cool and funny. He constantly teased the La Diva girls. Like, "Ano ba yan, tatlo lang ang fans ng La Diva... Tig-iisa lang sila," and "Hindi, kaya pinalakpakan ang La Diva at the end of the song kasi nakita na nila tayong umaakyat ng stage". hehehe He's calm which is quite adorable because you sooo-want to experience him -- well, not in a sexual way, ok? LOL Also, I think his smile and height are his assets. Maganda ng bagsak ng damit sa kanya.

Bryan is the teaser of the pack and he's great at it. He's sooo cute and funny. He's actually the most charming among them. Game s'ya. I already liked him on TV kasi his facial features are quite similar to my ex-boyfriend's. Now that I saw him personally and watched him perform, ayayay! ..Gusto ko na s'ya iuwi sa bahay. haha

On the serious side, we should support these Filipino performers. Their TV programs does not justify their talents because they are way, waaaaaaay better when you watch them live. Salute!
